Definition: A technique in which individuals are trained to monitor their own breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure (with the use of various instruments), then change the rate of those functions through relaxation techniques or visual imagery.
Pronunciation: buy-oh-feed-back
Examples: Once Amy had learned biofeedback techniques, she could lower her blood pressure by using relaxation exercises.
