Definition: An important androgenic (male) hormone that is produced in the adrenal glands from cholesterol in both men and women, and in the ovaries in women. It is also available as a dietary supplement.

It is associated with sex drive in both men and women, but is possibly associated with an increased risk of prostate and endometial cancers.
